Job summary

Service Stream is seeking a Mechanical Fitter in Brisbane to maintain critical water infrastructure. The role offers relocation assistance for exceptional candidates and strong career progression within a growing national organisation.

You will perform maintenance across treatment plants and network infrastructure, troubleshoot mechanical systems, and work within a team dedicated to safety and quality. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical discipline or equivalent.
• Current unrestricted Driver's Licence.
• Experience in water/wastewater or similar industrial environments.
• Strong fault-finding and maintenance experience on mechanical plant and equipment.
• High Risk Work Licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance on water and wastewater treatment assets
• Troubleshoot and fault-find mechanical equipment and systems
• Carry out repairs, installations, commissioning, and decommissioning activities
• Support the delivery of minor capital and improvement projects
• Collaborate with engineers, operators, and maintenance teams to maximise asset reliability
• Assist with work planning, scoping, and estimating activities
• Mentor apprentices and share knowledge across the team
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
• Promote a positive safety culture and ensure work complies with procedures

Skills

Trade qualification in mechanical

Current unrestricted Driver's Licence

Water industry experience

Fault-finding and maintenance
