Job summary

Redland City Council in Queensland seeks two Mechanical Trades Assistants to support City Water's maintenance of water and wastewater assets, including treatment plants and pumping stations. This hands-on role offers field and workshop work and opportunities to grow mechanical skills.

You will work alongside experienced Mechanical Fitters, handle maintenance, installation and servicing of pumps, and contribute to safe and efficient operations across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Engineering Certificate II in a relevant trade or equivalent.
• Current C-class drivers licence.
• Ability to attain Confined Space Ticket.
• Willingness to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and repair of water and wastewater assets.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and servicing of pumps and mechanical equipment.
• Carry out equipment greasing, cleaning and alignment.
• Operate hand and power tools safely.
• Participate in maintaining City Water assets and records.
