Job summary

BlueScope's Port Kembla site is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Officer to join the Hot Strip Mill team. You will deliver maintenance strategies for Down Coiler and Coil Handling equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations at a world-class asset.

The role requires a mechanical trade or relevant qualification, with a track record in maintenance reliability and a commitment to safety. You will collaborate with internal and external customers to optimise reliability and cost

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade or relevant tertiary qualification.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance with focus on defect elimination and reliability.
• Commitment to safety and wellbeing.
• Experience coordinating maintenance with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day management of plant maintenance activities, including planning, organising, execution and review of maintenance.
• Coordinate and provide technical support to the maintenance resources within the section.
• Coach, mentor and develop maintenance personnel in manufacturing excellence principles and process, particularly around root cause and problem analysis and the development and execution of corrective actions.
• Participate in cost reduction and capital upgrade projects.
• Respond to the day-to-day Mechanical availability and reliability issues.
