Job summary

Saraji Mine is seeking capable, safety-minded Mechanical Fitters to maintain surface field mining equipment at BHP's Saraji Mine. You will perform inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs on draglines and electric shovels, ensuring continuous operation and safety.

Candidates should hold a Mechanical Trade qualification (Cert III or equivalent) and have demonstrated experience with draglines and electric rope shovels, with a focus on diagnostics and safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification (Cert III or equivalent) required.
• Experience with draglines and electric rope shovels preferred.

About the Role

Saraji Mine are seeking capable, and safety‑minded Mechanical Fitters who are ready to take the next step in their career. You'll play a key role in keeping our operation running smoothly by carrying out inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on our heavy field mining equipment.

Key Duties

• Performing preventative and breakdown maintenance on surface field mining equipment, including draglines and electric shovels.
• Diagnosing faults and conducting repairs and servicing on surface field mining equipment.
• Supporting continuous improvement through proactive problem solving.
• Contributing to a safe and collaborative team environment.

About You

• A strong commitment to safety and looking out for your teammates.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities.
• A Mechanical Trade qualification (Cert III or equivalent)
• Demonstrated prior experience working with draglines and electric rope shovels.
