About the role

Our Fixed Plant Mechanical teams are currently hiring Maintainers to fill permanent positions at our Newman Operations. Working in a team of mechanical maintainers, and reporting to the Supervisor Fixed Plant Maintenance, you will be responsible for the carrying out of preventive, reactive and planned maintenance tasks to support plant availability in the field. With the support of a strong and proactive Management team, Engineers, Electricians and all of BHP's resources, you have the ability to continually learn and develop in your career andmake a difference to our operation.
These are residential roles based on even-time rosters (day & night shift).

In this residential role you will be based in Newman, Western Australia on a lifestyle roster pattern. You will be working at the closely located ‘Mount Whaleback’ mine site, which at more than five kilometres long and nearly 1.5 kilometres wide is the biggest single-pit open-cut iron ore mine in the world. The 5,000 strong population of Newman enjoys well-established town facilities including a newly revitalised town centre and sporting facilities. As a gateway to the Karijini national park, you will be in close proximity to spectacular gorges, water courses and stunningly unique landscapes. As this is a residential position you will also be provided with subsidised rental accommodation in addition to power and water subsidies.
