Job summary

PROTECH is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to perform maintenance, servicing and repairs of plant and equipment in a precast concreting yard in Darwin. The role offers a long‑term opportunity with Monday to Friday work and up to 50 hours per week, with penalties for overtime as applicable.

The ideal candidate will have an Australian Recognised Trade Qualification, heavy industry experience, own transport and a valid driver’s licence, and be prepared to pass drug and alcohol

• Similar experience working in heavy industry
• Own transport and driver’s licence
• Must pass drug and alcohol test and pre employment medical

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, servicing and repair of plant and equipment
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out breakdown repairs
• Mechanical installation of moving parts and machinery
• Fabrication of steel moulds
• Welding and structural steel work, including fabrication and repairs
• Repair and maintenance of damaged or distorted steel moulds and formwork
