Job summary

Workforce Extensions is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a busy commercial laundry facility in Queensland. You will service and maintain industrial laundry machinery, perform preventative and breakdown maintenance, and diagnose faults to minimise downtime.

A recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification is required, with experience in pumps, motors, gearboxes and conveyors. Ongoing work with morning or afternoon shifts, overtime and superannuation available.

• Ability to read mechanical drawings and manuals.

Job description

This role will see you working within a busy commercial laundry facility, servicing and maintaining industrial laundry machinery and associated production equipment.

You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns and complete mechanical repairs to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently while minimising production downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Service and maintain industrial washing machines, dryers and associated laundry equipment

• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance

• Strip, inspect, repair and rebuild mechanical components

• Diagnose faults and troubleshoot automated production equipment

• Maintain pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings and conveyors

• Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Complete routine servicing, lubrication and equipment inspections

• Assist with basic welding and fabrication when required

• Follow safe-isolation and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures

• Complete all work in accordance with site safety requirements

What's on Offer

• $65 per hour + overtime + superannuation

• Morning and afternoon shifts available

• Morning shift: approximately 6:00/7:00 am-2:00 pm

• Afternoon shift: 2:00 pm-10:00 pm

• Daily overtime may be available

• Saturday work may be required

• Ongoing work for suitable candidates

• Work continuing throughout the Christmas period

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification

• Previous mechanical fitting and industrial maintenance experience

• Experience with industrial or commercial laundry machinery highly regarded

• Experience maintaining automated or production-line equipment

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills

• Experience with pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings and conveyors

• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical manuals

• Basic welding and fabrication skills advantageous

• Forklift licence or experience highly regarded

• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team

• Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays when required
