Village Roadshow Theme Parks on the Gold Coast is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to help keep our iconic attractions running safely and smoothly. You will perform pre-opening safety checks, respond to breakdowns, and participate in repairs and overhauls across rides and park infrastructure.

The role requires a minimum Cert III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade, a flexible approach to shift times (early mornings, evenings and weekends), and licences such as EWP or forklift are advantageous.

• Maintain life support systems and water quality infrastructure.

• Obtain equipment licences and training as required.
• Complete daily tasks as instructed by the Engineering Supervisor.
• Suggest improvements to safety and efficiency within the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertaking pre- park opening safety checks
• Respond to breakdowns on various equipment
• Partake in various rebuilds and repairs of property
• Maintain marine animal life support systems and water quality infrastructure
• Ensure the safety of yourself and others by adherence to OHS procedures
• Obtain equipment licences and training as requiredComplete daily tasks as instructed by the Engineering Supervisor
• Suggest improvements in work procedures in order to increase safety and efficiency within the department

Shifts:

We are offering family friendly rosters. Our shifts allow our team members to be home every night. Shifts times range between 5.00am and 6.00pm, rotating over 7 weeks.

Shift Samples:

Day shift: 5am – 3pm / 5am – 1:06pm / 5:20am – 6pm / 8am – 6pm
* Please note rosters may be subject to change dependent on business requirements.

What We’re Looking For

If you love solving mechanical puzzles and keeping big machines at their best, this is the role you’ve been waiting for! You’ll bring:

• A minimum Cert III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade
• Ability to work on any day including early mornings, evenings and weekends
• A reasonable level of fitness to enable the climbing of ladders and stairs

It would be advantageous if you have (desirable):

• Hydraulics qualifications highly regarded
• Experience with working at heights
• Currently hold EWP, Forklift License, or willing to obtain
• Manual drivers license
