Job summary

Hunter Valley Compressors hires a Mechanical Fitter / Field Service Technician to service and repair compressed-air equipment across Newcastle, the Hunter region and surrounding areas. Based from Tomago, you’ll visit customer sites, perform servicing, diagnose faults and install equipment with support from a friendly, family-owned team.

You’ll have a relevant trade qualification, a current driver licence and White Card, plus your own tools.

Mechanical Fitter / Field Service Technician

At Hunter Valley Compressors, you'll service and repair equipment that local businesses depend on every day. You don't need compressed-air experience—we'll provide on-the-job training to help you build that knowledge.

What you'll be doing

Based out of our Tomago workshop, you'll visit customer sites across Newcastle, the Hunter region and surrounding areas to install, service and repair compressed-air systems and related equipment.

• Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.


• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs.


• Installing equipment and helping customers keep their operations running.


• Communicating clearly with customers and the HVC team about the work required and completed.

You'll enjoy a mix of practical work, problem-solving and customer interaction, with independence on site and a team behind you.

What you'll bring
