Job summary

Pentarch Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our Eden mill on a permanent full-time basis. You will help keep our fixed plant machinery across saw and chip milling operations running at peak efficiency.

• Engineering - Mechanical Trade qualification (essential).

Responsibilities

• Maintain fixed plant equipment to keep production up and running.
• Perform fault finding, repairs and service on milling and fixed plant machinery.
• Use sound judgement with regard to health and safety during maintenance.
• Minimise breakdown time; perform quick fixes and thorough repairs between shifts.
• Utilise Ampro maintenance software for daily operations.
• Participate in shutdowns and improvement projects.

Seeking qualified fitters to join our Eden mill maintaining a variety of fixed plant machinery on a permanent basis. Daily fuel allowance paid.

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitterwith strong work ethic to join us on a Permanent Full-time basis . You will help keep our saw and chip milling operation running at its best. If you enjoy working across different fixed plant equipment and machinery, we are interested in talking to you.

These roles report into our Maintenance Manager and will be responsible both preventative and corrective maintenance of site plant and equipment to a high standard, which will enable maximum production levels to be sustained.

We offer a competitive hourly rate, as well as any additional rates based on loading and paid overtime opportunities as and when required.

This position will work weekly rotating morning and afternoon shifts Monday to Friday. With either 6am or 2pm start times.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Working with the maintenance team to maintain production levels by ensuring fixed plant equipment is functioning correctly to work towards delivering zero production down time.
• Performing fault finding as well as repairs and services of various fixed plant machinery including our treatment plant and transfer belts and decks.
• The use of sound judgement when making decisions regarding maintenance with due regard to employee health and safety.
• Working to ensure that any breakdown time is as short as possible, this may involve both quick fixes to ensure production is maintained and conducting thorough repairs between shifts.
• The use of Ampro maintenance software to assist with daily operations in the maintenance team.
• Participating in minor and major shutdowns and improvement projects.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Substantial experience working as a maintenance fitter working within a production or manufacturing environment.
• A qualification in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or another relevant field is essential.
• The ability to identify technical issues and recommend improvements as well as assisting with rectification.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety issues and a high regard for employee safety.
• Previous experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics is highly regarded.
• Additional relevant tickets such as working at heights, confined spaces, forklift license or similar are desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with other fitters, supervisors, managers and other key stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with drive and commitment to complete work to a high standard whilst working alone and in a team environment.
• Willingness to adapt to changes for continuous improvement in processes.
