Job summary

Rashi Joshi is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a growing team working across Bowen Basin mine sites in Central Queensland. You will be responsible for maintenance, inspection, fault-finding and repair of overhead cranes, jib cranes and associated lifting equipment, with a focus on safety and reliability.

The role operates on a 4/3 roster with 12-hour shifts, offering a long-term opportunity with ASAP start for the right candidate and ongoing site support across multiple Bowen

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with mine-site experience.
• Valid Driver’s Licence and Standard 11.
• Coal Board Medical current.
• Experience on overhead/jib cranes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, fault-find and repair overhead/jib cranes and lifting equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Carry out component replacements and mechanical inspections for reliability and safety.
• Adhere to a 4/3 roster with 12‑hour shifts and ASAP start.

Your new role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a growing team working across various mine sites throughout the Bowen Basin. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, fault-finding and repair of overhead cranes, jib cranes and associated lifting equipment. You will carry out preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, component replacements and mechanical inspections to ensure equipment reliability and compliance. Working a 4/3 roster with 12-hour shifts, you will support a range of mining clients while contributing to safe and efficient site operations. This is a long-term opportunity with an ASAP start for the right candidate.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification
• Current Driver’s Licence
• Standard 11 Statement of Attainment
• Current Coal Board Medical
• Experience working on overhead and/or jib cranes highly regarded
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with gearboxes, brakes, bearings and lifting equipment advantageous
• Commitment to maintaining high safety standards
• Must be residentially based in Mackay
