Job summary

OSMAC Apprenticeships in Brisbane is seeking a Mechanical Fitter apprentice (2nd/3rd/4th year) to join a major client in Acacia Ridge. The role focuses on manufacturing, repairing, and overhauling industrial machinery for mining and civil construction, with on-the-job training and career progression.

You will interpret drawings, fit and reassemble components, and contribute to efficient maintenance strategies while upholding safety and quality standards across the team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Mechanical Fitting apprenticeship or have industry experience.
• Trade assistants with relevant experience are encouraged and may be fast tracked to formal qualification.
• Experience in the build and repair of industrial machinery, including hydraulic, pneumatic, 24 volt electrical components and mechanical systems.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail for precision work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with safety and quality focus.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing, repairs, and overhauls on specialised industrial machinery and equipment for mining and civil construction.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
• Fitting, inspecting, and reassembling machinery, replacing worn or defective parts as required.
• Performing precision fitouts alignments to ensure equipment meets manufacturer specifications.
• Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to implement efficient maintenance strategies.
• Adhering to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Providing on-the-job training and mentoring to apprentices as required.
