Newkey Consulting is seeking qualified Mechanical Fitters to join our team and support major customers in energy and infrastructure sectors. You will overhaul gearboxes, inspect and repair power transmission equipment, and contribute to a safe, organized workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Must have Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use workshop measuring equipment.
• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with relevant safety standards.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul gearbox and power transmission equipment across various makes.
• Champion a strong safety culture and lead by example.
• Independently strip, clean, inspect and repair industrial power transmission equipment.
• Maintain a safe, clean and well-organised workshop, ensuring equipment is in good condition.
• Occasional site work and travel as required.
• Ongoing learning and OEM training participation.

Key Responsibilities

• Overhaul a wide range of gearbox and power transmission equipment across various makes and types.
• Champion a strong safety culture and lead by example
• Independently strip, clean, inspect and repair industrial power transmission equipment
• Maintain a safe, clean and well-organised workshop, ensuring equipment is kept in good working condition.
• Undertake occasional site work and travel as required.
• Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, including OEM training.

About You

You're a reliable, results driven individualand dedicated team player with strong communication skills.

You will bring:

• Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification
• Strong technical skills, including the ability to interpret engineering drawings and use workshop measuring equipment.
• A commitment to workplace safety and compliance with relevant safety standards.
• Effective workload management and organisational skills.Basic computer literacy.

Desirable skills:

• Experience in customer service and client interaction.
• Gearbox testing experience.
• Relevant high-risk work licenses, including forklift (FLT), dogging and rigging.
