Job summary

Brownes Dairy is seeking a Mechanical Fitter at its Balcatta site to maintain and optimise plant assets for 24/7 operations. This full-time role follows a 12-hour shift pattern: 2 days, 2 nights and 4 days off, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualified candidates will hold an Australian Recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification and have food-manufacturing experience. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Australian Recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment is highly regarded.
• Ability to work effectively without supervision.
• Experience with computerized preventative maintenance programs.
• Strong planning, time management and communication skills.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.
• Extensive fault-finding in an automated production plant.
• Adhere to relevant Australian Standards, quality and environmental measurements (AS3000, ISO 9000, QMS, HACCP).

• $147,084.24 Per Annum Plus Super

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Fitter who will play a vital part in ensuring our assets in Balcatta are optimized to provide the best possible products from a mechanical perspective ensuring our machinery is maintained so that our plant can run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This is a full‑time position, working a 12‑hour shift pattern of 2 x days, 2 x nights and 4 x days off.

What are we looking for?

• Australian Recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment will be highly regarded
• The ability and confidence to work effectively without supervision
• Experience with computerized preventative maintenance programs
• Good planning, time management and communication skills
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards
• Extensive knowledge and use of fault-finding techniques within an automated production plant.
• Perform work in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, quality, and environmental measurements, (e.g., AS3000, ISO 9000, QMS, Food Safety Systems (HACCP, RMA).
