Job summary

Civmec is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to support upcoming maintenance shutdowns in Gladstone, Queensland. You will service plant and machinery, install and align new components, and work with operational teams to keep assets running safely and reliably.

The role requires a trade certificate and site/shutdown experience, with 12‑hour rosters and accommodations provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate and hands-on experience with plant and machinery.
• Shutdown/site experience is essential.
• Ability to pass medical and drug screens.

Civmec's Gladstone Maintenance division delivers specialised maintenance and shutdown services to refinery and heavy industrial clients in Queensland, partnering with operational teams to keep critical assets running safely and reliably.

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will support maintenance shutdowns and project works, servicing plant and machinery while installing and aligning new components to keep operations running efficiently.

Upcoming Moura Shutdown

• Preworks - 8th October
• Execution - 14th October - 8th November
• Postshut - 9th November - 20th November
• 12hr Day & Nightshifts
• 13: 1 Roster
• Accommodation and meals provided

The Role

• Support various maintenance shutdowns and project works
• Conduct project works on plant and equipment
• Maintain a variety of fixed plant and machinery
• Service mechanical equipment to required standards
• Install new components across plant and machinery
• Conduct alignment of newly installed components
• Identify maintenance and repair requirements of fixed plant
• Provide mechanical fitting support during shutdowns
• Ensure work meets safety and quality standards
• Coordinate with team members on site tasks
• Maintain tools and equipment in working order

About You

• Australian recognised Trade Certificate
• Construction White Card
• Work Safely at Heights (desirable)
• Enter and Work in Confined Space (desirable)
• Gas Test Atmospheres (desirable)
• Minimum 5 years shutdown / site experience
• Ability to pass a pre-employment Medical and regular / random Drug and Alcohol screens
• Additional Tickets will be highly regarded
