Job summary

Studyandwork is offering a Mechanical Engineering Intern position in Moorabbin, VIC. The role provides hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement within a real production environment.

You will work with engineering and production teams, gaining exposure to machinery, SOP development, and Lean Kaizen initiatives. Ideal for current students or recent graduates seeking Australian industry exposure and practical engineering skills.

Qualifications

• Currently studying or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in manufacturing, machinery and mechanical systems.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive, reliable and willing to learn; available 3 days per week for 12 weeks; able to travel to Moorabbin, VIC.

Responsibilities

• Support troubleshooting of manufacturing and production equipment.
• Assist with mechanical and manufacturing improvement projects.
• Analyse machinery performance and production data.
• Support equipment optimisation and efficiency improvements.
• Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Assist with technical documentation and troubleshooting guides.
• Learn tooling, machinery setup and production processes.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve production efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, quality and production teams.
• Follow workplace health, safety and quality procedures.
