Job summary

M2P Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Products team in Brisbane/Salisbury, Queensland. You will take a design from idea to a tested, manufactured product with a focus on inflatable and safety-critical systems.

You’ll work across design, development and verification, applying mechanical analysis, calculations and physical testing to challenge assumptions and build confidence in the finished product. Collaboration with manufacturing in an ISO 9001 environment is essential.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering and experience in product design and development.
• Strong mechanical analysis skills, including FEA and first-principles calculations.
• Hands-on experience planning and conducting physical test programs, interpreting results and using them to inform design decisions.
• A practical understanding of design verification and validation methodologies.
• Clear technical communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead product design and development from concept through to production release.
• Develop solutions that build on inflatable safety product range, including monitoring, control, deployment and retrieval devices.
• Prepare designs and technical documentation for manufacture, working with manufacturing teams to resolve production challenges.
• Develop and conduct physical test programs to validate finite element analysis (FEA), engineering calculations and design assumptions.
• Translate client requirements and operating conditions into clear design criteria and verification methods.
• Strengthen design controls, change management practices and technical documentation.
• Mentor junior team members and share engineering knowledge.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing products and develop new solutions.
