Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, development, and delivery of mechanical systems and equipment across a range of engineering projects. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle—from concept and design through procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.

The ideal candidate has strong engineering design experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of mechanical systems within construction, manufacturing, mining, industrial, infrastructure, or building services environments.

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design & Engineering
  • Design mechanical systems, equipment, and components in accordance with project specifications and applicable industry standards.
  • Perform engineering calculations, technical analysis, and feasibility studies.
  • Develop detailed engineering designs, layouts, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Prepare equipment sizing, mechanical calculations, and engineering reports.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
  • Manage mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, structural, electrical, and civil engineers to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical guidance.
  • Identify project risks and recommend engineering solutions.
Technical Documentation

Site Support
  • Conduct site inspections and verify installations comply with engineering designs.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues encountered during construction.
  • Prepare site reports and engineering recommendations.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards (AS), ISO standards, and client

specifications.

  • Promote safe engineering practices and compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS)

requirements.

  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and quality assurance activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Present engineering solutions and technical recommendations.
  • Support proposal development and tender submissions when required.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering practices.
  • Experience delivering engineering projects from concept through completion.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), RPEQ, or working toward professional registration.
  • Experience in construction, mining, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, or industrial sectors.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards, National Construction Code (NCC), and engineering regulations.
  • Experience with pressure piping, HVAC, process equipment, pumping systems, structural mechanical systems, or industrial plant design.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
