Job summary

Embedded Expertise in Melbourne is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and engineer HVAC, cooling and ventilation systems for UPS, battery rooms, switchrooms, generators, modular systems and data centres.

You will work on projects from inception to commissioning and handover, performing cooling load calculations and engaging in site-based commissioning of data centre infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience designing HVAC/cooling for critical infrastructure, preferably data centres.
• Experience performing cooling load calculations and selecting equipment.
• Experience designing or commissioning cooling systems, ideally in data centres.
• Knowledge of UPS, battery, switchgear or related electrical infra is a plus.
• Site-based commissioning experience.

Job description

Reporting to the Delivery Manager, you will work on projects from inception, to commissioning, and handover and be responsible for designing and engineering HVAC, cooling and ventilation systems for UPS, battery rooms, switchrooms, generators, modular systems and data centres.

You will possess:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong experience of designing HVAC/cooling of critical infrastructure (ideally, data centres)
• Experience performing cooling load calculations and equipment
• Experience designing and/or commissioning cooling systems, ideally within data centres
• Knowledge of UPS, battery, switchgear or other electrical infrastructure will be highly regarded
• Experience of site-based commissioning
