Job summary

Ampcontrol is seeking a Mechanical Services Engineer to drive the design, integration, testing and commissioning of mechanical cooling systems that support critical power infrastructure. You’ll work across projects from concept to handover, collaborating with electrical engineers, OEMs, contractors and clients to ensure UPS, batteries, switchgear and data centres operate safely and reliably.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Experience designing/commissioning cooling systems in data centres or critical environments.
• Understanding interaction between mechanical and electrical systems; UPS knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer HVAC, cooling and ventilation systems for UPS, battery rooms, switchrooms and data centres.
• Calculate cooling loads, select equipment, and layout components with redundancy.
• Integrate mechanical with electrical systems and assess thermal performance.
• Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards and client specifications.
• Develop and support FAT, SAT and commissioning activities.
• Troubleshoot cooling performance, controls and airflow.
• Collaborate with project managers, OEMs, contractors and clients.
• Maintain calculations, documentation and commissioning records.
