Job summary

Mission Critical Recruiting is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for data centre projects in Sydney. You will lead electrical system integration across the full project lifecycle and coordinate HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection works.

You will review consultant packages, support tendering and value engineering, and provide on-site engineering during commissioning and final inspections. Strong communication and project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in electrical data centre or mission-critical design.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and building services.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE and local codes.
• Strong communication and project management skills.

Location: Sydney

Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 + super and up to 50% bonus potential

Overview

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in leading electrical system integration for data centres, or similarly complex, mission critical buildings?

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical engineering across the full project lifecycle, from initial site assessments and equipment cost planning through to design development, construction support and project completion.
• Develop and coordinate HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems, including technical drawings and engineering specifications.
• Support tender documentation, construction design, value engineering and client approval processes.
• Review and coordinate consultant design packages to ensure technical compliance and alignment with project schedules.
• Provide on-site engineering support during commissioning, final inspections and as-built documentation reviews.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years in electrical data centre (or mission critical) design
• Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, Revit)
• Knowledge of BMS
• Familiarity with ASHRAE and local building codes
• Strong problem-solving, project management and communication skills
