Job summary

Interior Engineering in Brisbane (Milton) is seeking a mechanical services engineer to provide efficient HVAC design solutions for diverse building projects. The role involves preparing design and tender docs, and overseeing projects from concept through construction, including site visits and liaising with suppliers.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in building services, a mechanical engineering degree, strong communication, and a proactive, adaptable mindset; drivers license and Australian work

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering recognised in Australia (BEng Mechanical or equivalent).
• Minimum of three years' experience with an engineering consultancy or related building services contractor.
• Experience or interest in leading multidisciplinary projects and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Hold a valid C class driver's license and full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed HVAC design solutions.
• Prepare contract documentation for tendering and construction.
• Manage design projects from concept to completion with the design team.
• Attend site inspections and review construction works.
• Liaise with equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
• Research new products and HVAC design practices to keep up-to-date.

The Role

As a member of our dynamic and forward thinking mechanical services team, you will be responsible for providing efficient and innovative design solutions for various building services projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of accurate and detailed HVAC design solutions.
• Preparation of contract documentation for tendering and construction purposes
• Managing design projects from concept through to completion including the consultation with all members of the design team
• Attending site to inspect existing services and review construction works
• Liaising with equipment Suppliers and Manufacturers
• Researching new products and HVAC design practices and ensuring the Company remains up-to-date with the latest building services technology

Skills and Experience:

Our ideal candidate will:

• Be degree qualified from a tertiary institution recognised in Australia (B Eng Mechanical or equivalent).
• Have a minimum of three (3) years previous experience working with an engineering consultancy or relevant contracting company in building services
• Have experience or an interest in managing multidisciplinary projects
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and sound problem-solving skills
• Have a willingness to learn and develop new skill levels
• Be proactive, adaptable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Hold a valid C class driver’s license
• Have full working rights in Australia and able to work from our Brisbane office
• Be willing to travel and stay overnight, or longer, to any Australian destination if required
• Have the ability to adapt seamlessly to change within the workplace
