Job summary

Ardent Leisure Group Limited’s Dreamworld and WhiteWater World are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team onsite on the Gold Coast. You will help improve safety, reliability and performance of our rides, water slides and related equipment.

Reporting to the Manager, Continued Compliance & Reliability, the role covers maintenance, reliability, design, compliance and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience in maintenance, heavy engineering or a practical engineering environment.
• Experience with CAD, preferably Autodesk Inventor, including parametric modelling and basic stress analysis.

Responsibilities

• Review maintenance issues and reliability data to identify improvements.
• Assess mechanical wear, tolerances and repair requirements.
• Support engineering design, change management and project delivery.
• Deliver small to medium projects across rides, water slides and associated equipment.
• Provide practical engineering guidance to trades and contractors.
• Liaise with manufacturers, specialists and external contractors.
• Support asset registrations, records and compliance with Australian Standards.

Dreamworld and WhiteWater World are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team and help improve the safety, reliability and performance of our assets.

Reporting to the Manager, Continued Compliance & Reliability, this hands-on role spans maintenance, reliability, design, compliance and project delivery across a truly unique engineering environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Reviewing maintenance issues and reliability data to identify improvements
• Assessing mechanical wear, tolerances and repair requirements
• Supporting engineering design, change management and project delivery
• Delivering small to medium projects across rides, water slides and associated equipment
• Providing practical engineering guidance to trades and contractors
• Liaising with manufacturers, specialists and external contractors
• Supporting asset registrations, records and compliance with Australian Standards

What we’re looking for

• You’ll hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering and bring at least 3 years’ relevant experience, ideally in maintenance, heavy engineering or a practical engineering environment.
• You’ll also bring project engineering experience, strong problem-solving skills and confidence using CAD, preferably Autodesk Inventor, including parametric modelling and basic stress analysis.
• A strong approach to safety, quality and compliance is essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and work confidently with a range of stakeholders.
• Theme park experience is a bonus, but not essential.

This role is based onsite at Dreamworld and WhiteWater World, with some lifting, climbing and working at heights of up to 120 metres required. Flexibility around work hours may also be needed from time to time.
