Job summary

Furmanite in Melbourne, Victoria, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to deliver timely, safe, economical design solutions supporting the Leak Sealing service line. You will produce detailed manufacturing drawings to ASME/AS standards and coordinate with fabrication teams.

You will liaise with customers and operating divisions to optimise designs, visit client sites (including offshore) for surveys, and maintain engineering drawings within the quality system.

Qualifications

• Minimum tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution.
• High level of competence with SolidWorks 3D modelling software.
• Familiar with MathCAD, AutoCAD, with Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of ASME and AS drawing standards desirable.
• Experience with good mechanical design practice and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Produce timely, safe and economic design solutions for internal and external customers.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings complying with standards for fabrication/machining.
• Liaise with manufacturing during production to verify acceptable modifications.
• Coordinate with customers and divisions to optimise designs and meet requirements.
• Visit customer sites to perform surveys, attend progress meetings and report findings.
• Maintain drawings and documents according to quality processes.
• Assist with quoting, scheduling, invoicing, costing and project reporting.
