Exciting opportunity within our Engineering Business Unit
We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to own the full lifecycle of mechanical design across a variety of exciting projects. You'll take project requirements and translate them into practical, compliant, and manufacturable solutions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Lead mechanical design from concept through to manufacture and installation.
Translate project briefs into innovative engineering solutions, backed by calculations, modelling, and analysis.
Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings ready for production.
Perform mechanical calculations and simulations to ensure designs are safe, functional, and reliable.
Apply design-for-manufacture and assembly principles to optimise efficiency and buildability.
Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, industrial designers, and operations teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Review and validate supplier designs, components, and materials to ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.
Maintain engineering governance through documented calculations, revision control, and auditable reports.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of design standards, workflows, and tools.
Ensure all designs meet Australian Standards, WHS requirements, and safety-in-design principles.

You bring:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
4-8+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience.
Proven ability with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) and detailed manufacturing drawings.
Experience performing mechanical calculations and simulations.
Knowledge of Australian Standards and WHS compliance.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Experience in materials selection, specification, and supplier engagement.
