Job summary

APA Group in Newman invites applications for a Mechanical Technician Apprentice (fitter). This four-year apprenticeship combines hands-on maintenance work with formal training, leading to a nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (fitting).

You’ll gain experience across planned and reactive maintenance, learning on critical energy infrastructure and receiving full TAFE funding, tools, PPE, and mentoring as you progress.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship candidates will work towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (fitting).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with planned and reactive maintenance, inspections and repairs across the Newman region.
• Learning to service, maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of equipment.
• Supporting mechanical work under the guidance of qualified team members.
• Monitoring the performance and operation of critical assets through routine inspections.
• Assisting with equipment upgrades, replacements and improvement projects.
• Maintaining easements and site facilities to a high standard.
