Job summary

APA Group invites applications for a Mechanical Technician Apprentice (fitter) in Mount Isa. This full-time permanent opportunity offers a four-year apprenticeship combining hands-on work with formal training to achieve a nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (fitting).

You'll gain experience across maintenance activities, with tools, PPE and transport covered, and receive mentoring from experienced technicians as you build a long-term career in the energy

Responsibilities

• Assisting with planned and reactive maintenance, inspections and repairs across the region.
• Learning to service, maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of equipment.
• Supporting mechanical work under the guidance of qualified team members.
• Monitoring the performance and operation of critical assets through routine inspections.
• Assisting with equipment upgrades, replacements and improvement projects.
• Maintaining easements and site facilities to a high standard.
