Job summary

Broken Hill City Council seeks a permanent full-time Mechanic to maintain the transport fleet and plant. You will work under the Plant & Fleet Coordinator, performing mechanical duties for light and heavy vehicles, ensuring safety and efficiency across the fleet.

The successful candidate should have trade qualifications, strong computer and administrative skills, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Skilled mechanic with trade qualifications and recent experience with light and heavy vehicles and plant.
• Strong administrative and computer abilities, plus excellent communication skills.
• Capable of proactive task management and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical duties for light and heavy vehicle and plant.
• Maintain Council's transport fleet and equipment to a safe, efficient standard.
• Support department in administrative tasks as required.
