Job summary

Merkanooka Haulage is seeking a FIFO Mechanic/HD Fitter to service earthmoving equipment at Duketon, WA. You will join an experienced crew and focus on Komatsu loaders/graders, with opportunities to assist on other equipment. Roster options include 8/6, 2/1 or 4/2, with flights paid to multiple destinations and weekly pay.

The role requires heavy diesel experience, a recognised trade qualification, and readiness for medicals and police clearance. Australian working rights are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in maintaining earthmoving equipment in a mining/civil environment, especially with loaders & graders.
• Heavy Diesel Mechanic trade qualification (Australian recognised).
• Air conditioning qualification.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical.
• National Police Clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Must hold Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service Komatsu WA500/600 loaders and graders as priority, assist with movers, trailers and other equipment.
• Actively promote and uphold a positive safety culture and practices.
• Communicate respectfully and clearly with Leading Hands and team members.
• Ensure paperwork and service schedules are properly completed and compliant.

To support recent project growth, we are seeking an experiencedFIFOMechanic/HD Fitter (Earthmoving Equipment - Komatsu Loader/Graders)to join the team at Duketon in WA's Goldfields.

Roster options are for a 8/6, 2/1 or a 4/2 - you choose.

8/6 roster - Perth based only

2/1 roster - Flight paid (1 way) to any major capital city in Australia, Cairns, Newcastle, Townsville, Hobart, Launceston, Burnie, Auckland, Christchurch, Denpasar, Manila, Cebu, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City & Bangkok

4/2 roster - Both flights paid to any major capital city in Australia, Cairns, Newcastle, Townsville, Hobart, Launceston, Burnie, Auckland, Christchurch, Denpasar, Manila, Cebu, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City & Bangkok

You will join an existing crew of Leading Hands, 14 HD Fitters, Auto-Electricians, Boilermakers, Apprentice Fitters and a team of Service Personnel & Trades Assistants.

Permanent full-time opportunity on a long-term project

Attractive hourly rate of $75.00 plus superannuation on all hours worked (12.5)

Flights paid to various airports across Aus, NZ & South East Asia

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Focus on maintaining our Komatsu Loaders/Graders whilst assisting with fitting duties on our Movers, Trailers and other equipment as required
• Actively participate in promoting and upholding our positive approach to safety
• Respectful & honest communication with Leading Hands and your fellow team members
• Maintain compliance to service schedule and ensure compliance with all necessary paperwork

You will be responsible for the maintenance, service and repair of:

• Komatsu WA500/600 Wheel Loaders (Your priority)
• Kenworth C509, C510 and T909(Assisting)
• Service Truck(Assisting)
• Toyota Light Vehicles (Assisting)

To be considered for this role, successful applicants will possess or able to obtain the following:

• Prior experience in maintaining Earthmoving Equipment in a Mining/Civil environment, especially with Loaders & Graders
