Job summary

MPK are seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our team on a Monday-to-Friday roster. Based at our Wellcamp workshop in Toowoomba, the role will also travel to field locations as required and report to the Maintenance Superintendent.

About You: 5+ years’ experience, Heavy Diesel qualification, 4WD operation, inductions, CPR/First Aid, and a valid manual driver’s licence. NHVAS knowledge is beneficial and a strong collaborative mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• 4WD Operation in the field (PMASUP236)
• Heavy Diesel qualification
• Induction/Industry Safety Induction (before site entry)
• CPR (HLTAID001) and First Aid (HLTAID002 + HLTAID003)
• HR or HC driver’s licence and a current manual licence
• Seeking highly motivated Mechanic with ongoing fleet maintenance
• Minimum 5 years’ industry experience

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
• Mobilise in-field to repair vehicle/equipment for MPK crews when requested
• Record and report all work performed to the Maintenance Superintendent
• Carry out general mechanical repairs including seals, bearings, axles, suspension, brakes, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, welding and grinding
• Servicing and repairs on pumps and general plant
• Attend to equipment breakdowns when required
• Servicing of light and heavy vehicles under NHVAS accreditation
• Work with Maintenance Superintendent to optimise store inventory
• Report item usage from store inventory to Maintenance Superintendent
• Keep workshop clean, organised and stocked with tools and fluids
• Familiar with NHVAS requirements and responsibilities
• Provide tool inventory checks before changing out
• Conduct handovers to weekend coverage with notes
• Replace or reorder lost or damaged tools for weekend coverage
• Keep Wellcamp workshop and work areas safe and organized

Job Description

About the Role:

• Conduct scheduled and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
• Mobilise in-field to repair vehicle/equipment for MPK crews when requested
• Record and report all work performed to the Maintenance Superintendent
• Carry out general mechanical repairs, including seals and bearings, axle changes, suspension, brakes, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, basic welding and grinding
• Servicing and repairs on 6' pumps 4' pumps and general plant
• Attend to equipment breakdowns when required
• Servicing of Light vehicles, light trucks, and heavy vehicles in the NHVAS maintenance management accreditation Scheme
• Work with the Maintenance Superintendent to optimize store inventory
• Report item usage from store inventory to the Maintenance Superintendent
• Keep the service vehicle clean, organised and stocked with the required tools, inventory and fluids
• Must be familiar with NHVAS maintenance management accreditation scheme requirements and responsibilities
• Provide accurate tools inventory list and check over tools to ensure no missing/damaged tools before changing out
• Conduct face-to-face handovers, supported by appropriate notes, to weekend coverage or other team members where possible.
• Replace or reorder any lost or damaged tools for weekend coverage or other team members
• Keep the Wellcamp workshop and all work areas clean, organised and safe
