Job summary

Flinders University invites applications for Head of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program at Bedford Park. This continuing, full-time role leads the MD program, ensuring delivery, accreditation, and high-quality medical education across metropolitan and regional teaching sites.

You will provide academic leadership, oversight of assessments and progression, and collaborate with clinicians to deliver an innovative curriculum aligned with AMC standards and the university’s strategic aims.

Qualifications

• Doctoral-level qualification in medicine or MD equivalent.
• Leadership experience in higher education/medical education.
• Excellence in teaching at tertiary level evidence.
• Leadership in learning/teaching innovations across disciplines.
• Scholarly contribution in teaching and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic oversight of the MD program including assessment policy implementation.
• Lead initiatives to promote excellence and scholarship in learning and teaching.
• Oversee student progression, fitness to practise, and professional behaviour per policies.
• Serve as academic lead and adviser to students, staff and clinical partners.
• Provide counselling and professional development guidance to students.
