Qantas is seeking a Long Distance Driver based at Melbourne Airport Freight Terminal. You will operate heavy vehicles across interstate routes with a strong focus on safety, load security and regulatory compliance.

The role involves night shifts, a rotating roster, and travel between depots and customer sites. Casual opportunities may be available; the team values reliability and teamwork, with ongoing training and progression within a safety‑first operation.

Competenze

• A current MC driver’s licence.
• Demonstrated experience as a Long Distance or Linehaul Driver.
• Ability to conduct comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Strong knowledge of load-restraint principles and safe freight-handling practices.
• Ability to safely split and couple trailers and manage multi-trailer combinations.
• Physical capability to operate curtains, straps, ratchets and load-restraint equipment.
• Commitment to safety, compliance and operational excellence.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including night shifts.
• Willingness to travel interstate and work across depots.
• Clean driving record and ASIC eligibility.

• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers.
• Safely split, couple and reposition trailers at depots and customer sites.
• Operate curtains, straps, ratchets and other load-restraint equipment during loading/unloading.
• Maintain safety and compliance across interstate routes and depot locations.
