About The Role

Canberra Grammar School is seeking an engaging and innovative Mathematics Teacher to join our Senior School in 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to make mathematics meaningful, helping students see patterns, think logically, tackle complex problems and develop the confidence to persist when the answer is not immediately clear.

Teaching at CGS extends well beyond the classroom. The position includes teaching, pastoral and co-curricular responsibilities, with some out-of-hours commitments across the School calendar.

About You

You are a passionate Mathematics educator who brings energy, clarity and creativity to the classroom. You enjoy challenging students to think deeply while making complex ideas accessible, engaging and relevant.

You will bring:

  • subject expertise sufficient to teach Mathematics to senior level, with demonstrated success across the secondary years
  • the capacity to teach students across a broad range of ages, abilities and learning needs
  • an inclusive approach and a strong belief that every student can grow in confidence and capability
  • demonstrated use of assessment, feedback and data to advance student learning
  • a genuine commitment to pastoral care, co-curricular participation and the broader life of the School
  • excellent written and spoken English, strong interpersonal skills and confidence using technology to enhance learning
Desirable Experience
  • teaching across more than one senior pathway, including the IB Diploma Programme, HSC or IB Middle Years Programme
  • contributing to mathematics enrichment, extension or competition programmes
  • participating in co-curricular, outdoor education or service programmes
  • holding a higher degree or demonstrating further scholarship in Mathematics or education
