Queensland Health’s Rockhampton Hospital Maternity Service seeks a compassionate Assistant in Nursing to gain hands-on experience while studying. You’ll work with experienced midwives, assisting with daily activities and basic care in a busy maternity environment.

You’ll support with hygiene, mobility and comfort, observe patient changes, and learn unit routines under supervision. A Certificate III and teamwork are valued in this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centred care to maternity patients, assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, comfort, nutrition and daily activities.
• Support Registered Nurses and Midwives with delegated care activities, following clinical instructions.
• Observe and report changes in patients' conditions to support safe care.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment while following policies and safety standards.
