Job summary

Queensland Government’s Rockhampton Hospital Maternity Service seeks caring staff to support women and babies through antenatal, labour and postnatal care. You will assist with personal care, mobility and daily activities under supervision, contributing to a safe, compassionate environment.

With a focus on teamwork and learning, you will report changes promptly to RNs/Midwives and help maintain high standards of hygiene, safety and patient-centred care within the maternity unit.

Qualifications

• Compassion and empathy in patient care, with a person-centred approach.
• Effective teamwork and respectful collaboration within the maternity team.
• Ability to learn maternity unit routines and work under supervision.
• Willingness to follow instructions and contribute to safe care operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centred care to maternity patients including hygiene, mobility and daily activities.
• Support Registered Nurses and Midwives with delegated care tasks according to clinical instructions.
• Observe and promptly report changes in patients’ conditions to support safe care.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and comply with policies and patient safety standards.
