Job summary

Finisar in Sydney seeks a Planning Manager responsible for materials planning to meet demand for manufacturing and NPI operations. You will manage the Sydney purchasing team, own procedures, and communicate demand to IPO via Oracle systems while monitoring supplier performance metrics.

Key duties include leading the planning team, implementing Oracle APS, maintaining lean inventory, driving quality, and ensuring OH&S compliance across the department.

Qualifications

• Must have deep experience with material supply planning in manufacturing environments.
• Experience managing purchasing in high tech manufacturing.
• Experience with supplier management in an international environment.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and change management skills.
• Knowledge of electronics manufacturing techniques and suppliers.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and communication.
• Able to interact with upper management and production teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning team through goal setting, motivation and personnel management.
• Implement and run Oracle APS materials supply planning system for Sydney.
• Plan for lean inventory management with minimum inventory holding.
• Drive a culture of quality throughout the team.
• Ensure staff are allocated to tasks appropriate to their skills.
• Perform audits of systems and processes to continually review adherence to processes.
• Set, maintain and monitor KPI metrics for effective purchasing control.
• Provide effective proactive liaison with other departments to forecast, plan and meet supply demand.
• Train and develop the team to improve skill levels.
• Ensure OH&S compliance with company and legal requirements.
