Job summary

Webuild is delivering the Perth Women and Babies Hospital project in Western Australia. We have an exciting opportunity for a Materials Controller to join the Perth team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity leave cover contract, with potential extension.

You will manage materials data in SAP, plan and forecast requirements, receipt and issue materials, and support the project team to meet construction schedules while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Experience with material management systems, preferably SAP.
  • Experience on large-scale construction projects or other suitable works.
  • Strong planning, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Know-how of construction materials and services industry.
  • Excellent communication and professional delivery mindset.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office and SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage Purchase Requisitions in SAP.
  • Support project team to ensure materials availability aligned with construction schedule.
  • Plan and forecast material requirements for site allocation and reporting.
  • Receipt materials into SAP promptly.
  • Manage materials control for materials and equipment at lay down yard and sites.
  • Inspect and verify materials and documentation for project compliance.
  • Issue materials and equipment to site and return to lay down yard to maintain system accuracy.
  • Act as site point of contact to assist Material Manager, Procurement Manager and Expediting Coordinator.

The Project - Perth Women and Babies Hospital


Webuild is delivering the design and construction of the Women and Babies Hospital in Perth, Western Australia.


This landmark project will replace the century old King Edward Memorial Hospital, expanding services and choice for women, newborns, and families, delivering long lasting benefits and a positive legacy for the people of Western Australia.


About the Opportunity


We have an exciting opportunity for aMaterials Controllerto join the Perth Team! In this role, you willensure integrity of materials data within Materials Management Systems from identification of requirement through to final delivery.


As the project continues to progress, we are looking for individuals who bring strong capability and proven experience delivering successful outcomes on major building, healthcare, infrastructure or construction projects.


This is an initial 12-month Fixed Term Maternity Leave cover contract, with the potential for extension.


Key responsibilities



  • Creating and management of the Purchase Requisition in SAP

  • Supporting the project team to ensure materials availability in line with Construction schedule and constructability requirements.

  • Planning and forecasting material requirements to ensure effective allocation and reporting to site teams for the delays and upcoming materials.

  • Receipting of materials into SAP in a timely manner.

  • Managing the materials control function for materials and equipment received, handled and issued through the project lay down yard and sites.

  • Inspecting and verifying materials, equipment, documentation to ensure that it complies with the project technical and commercial requirements.

  • Issuing materials and equipment to site and returns to lay down yard to ensure accuracy of system and reporting information.

  • Be the site point of contact to assist Material Manager, Procurement Manager, and Expediting Coordinator to ensure ongoing project reporting

What you will bring:



  • Knowledge and experience with contemporary material management systems, preferably SAP

  • Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works and managing supplier relationships.

  • Proven planning, problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work through issues with moderate complexity and guide others in the resolution of problem

  • Sound knowledge of construction materials and services industry

  • Sound understanding of Cost and Stock Control

  • Excellent communication skills coupled with a strong professional attitude to delivery high standards.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office and SAP

  • A strong commitment to a team-based environment
