Qualifications

• AMSA Master <45m NC or higher.
• Current AMSA Certificates of Competency relevant to command duties.
• Minimum 10 years' command experience on commercial passenger vessels.
• Extensive operational experience on Sydney Harbour or similar high-density waterways.
• Strong knowledge of AMSA Marine Orders and NSCV requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and support vessel crews.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Current NSW Driver Licence.
• Full Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Acting as Master on designated passenger vessels across the fleet.
• Ensuring safe, compliant and professional vessel operations.
• Delivering exceptional guest experiences on Sydney Harbour.
• Conducting voyage planning, operational risk assessments and pre-departure checks.
• Managing navigational, operational and weather-related risks.
• Leading onboard emergency preparedness and response activities.
• Promoting safety, professionalism and operational excellence.
• Providing guidance and support to Masters, Engineers and Deck Crew.
• Assisting with crew development and competency growth.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives in marine operations.
• Liaising with maritime authorities and stakeholders as needed.
• Providing practical operational advice to management.
