Job summary

SeaLink Sydney Harbour is seeking a Master to lead on MV Sydney 2000 and the Jackson, full-time or casual, responsible for safe operation, pre-departure checks, navigation, safety drills, and crew leadership.

You'll work closely with Hospitality and Catering teams, ensure the vessel remains seaworthy, manage incidents, and maintain logs and records while delivering an exceptional guest experience on Sydney Harbour.

Qualifications

• Holder of Master <45m certificate.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Able to satisfactorily complete the yearly medical.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the vessel and ensure its safe operation at all times.
• Conduct pre-departure checks and routine tests on navigation, steering and engine control systems.
• Ensure all safety equipment is regularly tested and maintained, and the vessel is properly shut down and secured.
• Oversee the crew's activities, safety and well-being, and ensure the vessel is guest-ready before boarding.
• Conduct safety drills and manage emergency situations.
• Supervise the safe, efficient and timely boarding and disembarkation of passengers.
• Maintain effective communication with shoreside and onboard teams.
• Report and follow up on accidents, incidents and near-misses, and maintain accurate logs and records.
• Provide training, mentoring and guidance to crew on safety and operational procedures
