Role Summary And Key Accountabilities
The Marketing Process Analyst will help drive the definition and implementation of strategic end-to-end process improvements across the Marketing, Customer Lifecycle Management (CLM) and Martech & Operations teams, working within the Business Adoption and Process improvement team.
Currently across Marketing, CLM and Martech there is a major opportunity to aligning ways of working, define future proof processes and using technology enhancements to improve efficiency and speed to market across the marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Analyse process and workflow performance (e.g., time-to-brief, time-to-launch, throughput, rework/defects, missed SLAs, approval cycle times), identify root causes and recommend practical improvements to improve processes.
- Produce clear future-state process maps for the marketing operations workflow (ideation, planning, intake, prioritisation, briefing, build, QA, approvals, launch and monitoring), using agreed standards and keeping artefacts fit-for-purpose.
- Identify benefits and prioritise process enhancement backlogs for marketing operations, CLM and Martech delivery, including benefit sizing (time saved, reduced rework, improved compliance), costs, dependencies and delivery approach.
- Support the design and implementation of future-state ways of working elements, including RACI (roles and accountability), SOPs, checklists, templates, decision rules and control points.
- Partner with Martech, Data and Technology teams to translate process improvements into platform and tooling requirements (e.g., intake tooling, workflow/approvals, asset management, tagging/measurement), including user stories and acceptance criteria where required.
- Support delivery and adoption of changes by working with stakeholders to assess impacts, dependencies and optimisation opportunities.
- Define and monitor operational and campaign process KPIs and dashboards (e.g., speed-to-market, quality, compliance, utilisation) and establish governance and a continuous improvement cadence.
- Assess and document risk and compliance impacts of marketing processes, including consent and preference management, privacy, data minimisation, auditability and approval controls.
- Maintain process and ways-of-working documentation (playbooks, SOPs, checklists and templates) with version control, ensuring artefacts are usable and accessible.
- Create an integrated documentation pack for key workflows (process map + RACI + SOP/work instructions), and ensure documentation remains current as tools, approvals and team structures change.
- Establish monitoring and continuous improvement loops, including dashboards, regular performance reviews, post-implementation reviews and standardised test-and-learn practices.
Required Experience And Skills
- Demonstrated experience supporting process improvements from discovery and design through implementation, adoption and post-implementation review.
- Proven experience in process analysis / business analysis / continuous improvement within Marketing Operations, CLM, Martech delivery, Digital channels or similarly fast-paced environments.
- Strong process mapping and documentation capability; able to translate ambiguous marketing workflows into clear, repeatable operating processes.
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly capture and validate fit-for-purpose process maps, applying an appropriate level of detail based on process complexity, risk and stakeholder needs.
- Experience developing and integrating RACI and SOP documentation into operational ways of working (including version control, accessibility and enablement).
- Analytical skills: comfortable using data to diagnose issues and validate benefits (e.g., campaign ops metrics, conversion, churn, contactability; Excel and BI tools).
- Stakeholder management skills across Marketing, CLM, Martech, Data, Legal/Privacy and Technology teams, with ability to align on priorities and outcomes.
- Facilitation skills for intake/prioritisation, process design workshops, problem-solving sessions and decision forums.
- Understanding of governance, risk and controls relevant to marketing and customer data (e.g., privacy, consent/preference management, data quality, approval and audit trails).
- Ability to plan and manage competing priorities, with attention to detail and high-quality outputs.
- Clear written and verbal communication; able to produce concise, executive-ready summaries.
Desirable
- Experience in marketing operations (intake, briefing, approvals, campaign build/QA and release/change) within a large consumer business.
- Hands-on exposure to martech platforms (e.g., marketing automation/journey orchestration, CRM, CDP) and campaign execution/QA practices.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments with product and engineering teams (user stories, acceptance criteria, backlog refinement).
- Experience with process and collaboration tools (e.g., Visio, Miro, Confluence/Jira) and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Change management exposure (e.g., Prosci/ADKAR) and experience developing playbooks, training and communications for new ways of working.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
Core competencies
- Customer focus: prioritises outcomes that improve customer experience and reduce friction.
- Structured problem solving: uses root-cause analysis, hypothesis testing and evidence-based recommendations.
- Collaboration: builds trust, works transparently and brings people along through change.
- Pragmatism: balances ideal-state design with delivery constraints and operational realities.
- Continuous improvement mindset: seeks incremental gains and embeds measurement and feedback loops.
