Australian Sustainable Finance Institute Limited – Canberra ACT
ASFI is looking for a capable, organised and hands-on Marketing & Events Coordinator to support the day-to-day delivery of our marketing, communications and events activity.
This is a practical coordination role for someone who enjoys getting things done, keeping people and projects organised, and making sure communications, presentations and events are delivered professionally and on time.
You might already have solid experience in marketing, communications, events or administration and be looking for a role with more flexibility. You may be returning to professional work after a career break, or simply looking for a position where you can use your experience without taking on a senior management or strategy remit.
Working across our small team, you’ll coordinate the moving parts behind ASFI’s communications and events. This will include:
publishing and scheduling content across LinkedIn, our website, newsletters and member communications
maintaining our communications and content calendar and following up internal inputs and approvals
formatting and finalising PowerPoint presentations and routine communications materials
coordinating smaller events including webinars, roundtables and member events
managing invitations, registrations, attendee communications, venues, catering, speakers and run sheets
liaising with external marketing, design, web, media and event providers
maintaining member, contact, event and mailing records
coordinating and triaging incoming media enquiries for escalation
providing practical administrative support to keep marketing, communications and events activity moving.
For our larger events and specialist communications work, you’ll work alongside external agencies and providers rather than being expected to do everything yourself.
You’ll suit this role if you are someone who is naturally organised, reliable and comfortable taking ownership of the detail.
You’ll ideally bring:
practical experience in marketing, communications, events or a related coordination role
excellent organisation skills and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines
strong attention to detail
confidence following up colleagues, suppliers and senior stakeholders
strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint
sound judgement and an understanding of when something needs to be escalated
a willingness to do both coordination work and the routine administration that comes with working in a small organisation.
Experience with tools such as LinkedIn, Campaign Monitor, TryBooking, WordPress, Canva or Microsoft Teams would be useful, but isn’t essential.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is practical, switched on and happy to roll up their sleeves.
The Australian Sustainable Finance Institute is the peak body for sustainable finance in Australia. We work with financial institutions, government, regulators, civil society, academia and industry to help mobilise capital towards a sustainable, resilient and inclusive economy.
We’re a small, collaborative and purpose-driven team, so this role will have visibility across the organisation and plenty of variety.
The role can be structured between 0.6 and 1.0 FTE, and we are genuinely open to discussing flexible working arrangements, including flexibility in hours and work patterns.
ASFI also offers:
flexible working arrangements
four weeks’ annual leave, with additional service bonus leave over time
reimbursement of mobile phone expenses
volunteering leave
the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in a supportive, professional team.
