Job summary

TAFE NSW Life-Changing Careers at the Tighes Hill Campus seeks an Education Support Officer of Maritime Studies to provide technical and classroom support, enabling practical training and compliant learning for maritime learners. This role supports STCW processes, records, and AMSA compliance while collaborating with teachers and administration.

Note: role excludes teaching or assessment. The successful candidate will hold STCW CoCs (Deck or Engineer) or equivalent and have at least three years

Qualifications

• Hold STCW CoC or higher; minimum of three years' seagoing experience as a Watchkeeper Deck Officer or Engineer Officer.
• Experience applying AMSA compliance within maritime training environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and classroom support to teachers and learners to create an engaging learning environment.
• Assist with practical training activities, learner support, and course administration processes.
• Support day-to-day operations of maritime programs and maintain record management, reporting and compliance.
• Contribute to quality assurance activities and help maintain AMSA-approved standards.

Education

STCW Watchkeeper Deck Certificate of Competency (CoC) or higher
