Maritime Engineer - Defence Vessel Sustainment

Job summary

Serco is seeking a Maritime Engineer to support the Defence Maritime Support Services (DMSS) contract from Garden Island, NSW. You will deliver engineering changes, investigations and technical support, and coordinate with the SPO, site teams and subcontractors to ensure vessel safety and availability.

The role covers configuration management, data, governance and continuous improvement, with travel to Serco Defence locations as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum five years' engineering experience within Defence, maritime or a similar environment.
• Experience delivering engineering changes and technical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering changes, investigations and technical support across the DMSS contract.
• Provide engineering advice supporting vessel sustainment.
• Monitor vessel condition and performance.
• Manage configuration, technical data and engineering documentation.
