Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is seeking a field operations role to support Christmas Island Marine Park. You will assist in natural resource management, help deliver field activities, and engage with local stakeholders.

The role requires a tertiary qualification in Marine Science or related field, the ability to operate small vessels, and First Aid certification. Some on-water duties and occasional training are involved.

Qualifications

• Must hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Marine Science, Conservation Management or Environmental Science.
• Must be able to operate small vessels and conduct on-water activities safely.
• Must hold/maintain a First Aid certification and be willing to undertake relevant training.
• SCUBA diving qualifications and experience are required.

Responsabilités

• Assist in delivery of natural resource management operations for Christmas Island Marine Park.
• Support field operations, logistics, and safe implementation of park activities.
• Engage with stakeholders, communities, and advisory meetings; develop communications products.
• Collect and manage technical data and contribute to reports and documentation.
• Provide operational support for researchers and collaborate with community groups.
