Job summary

Aliaxis APAC in Toowoomba, Queensland, seeks a hands‑on Production Manager to lead 35 team members and drive safety, quality and efficiency across manufacturing operations. Reporting to Manufacturing Manager, you will champion Lean, develop leaders, collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Safety and Supply Chain, and deliver sustainable performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience within plastics manufacturing, FMCG, building products or heavy manufacturing.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and experience building positive safety cultures.
• Track record of leading large frontline teams and developing future leaders.
• Experience driving operational performance through Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front to create and sustain a world‑class safety culture.
• Build, coach and develop a high‑performing team of Team Leaders and operators.
• Drive employee engagement, accountability and retention.
• Deliver production targets while maintaining safety, quality and efficiency.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve productivity.
• Monitor OEE, productivity, scrap and operational efficiency.
• Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Safety and Supply Chain to optimise site performance.
• Provide strong operational leadership through daily production reviews and problem solving.
• Support capital projects and site improvement initiatives, including new production line implementation.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership and continuous learning.
