Job summary

Walco Aluminium in Granville, NSW, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. This hands-on role spans production processes, machinery and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

You will provide mechanical engineering support, review production processes and equipment, identify improvements to efficiency, quality and safety, and work with production teams, suppliers and contractors on engineering requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience.
• Experience in manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support across manufacturing operations.
• Review and improve production processes, machinery and equipment.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, quality and safety.
• Assist with the design, modification and implementation of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and production issues and develop practical solutions.
• Support the installation, commissioning and maintenance of plant and equipment.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, drawings and specifications.
• Work with production teams, suppliers and contractors on engineering requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across the business.
