Job summary

James Hardie is seeking a PCI Electrical Engineer (Controls and Automation) to advance electrical, automation and control systems at the Rosehill facility. You will lead PLC/SCADA projects, drive reliability, and support safe, efficient operations in a heavy industrial setting.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in electrical/automation, 3+ years in a similar role, and proven experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and SCADA systems. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, automation or related field.
Minimum 3+ years in a manufacturing or heavy industrial automation role.
Proven experience delivering automation and capital improvement projects.
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Studio 5000 is essential.
Experience with SCADA systems; Plant SCADA preferred.
Knowledge of VSDs, motor control and power distribution is advantageous.
Strong WHS, quality and safety design knowledge.

Responsibilities

Champion a safety-first culture across electrical, automation and control activities.
Design, implement, and improve electrical/automation systems for reliable manufacturing.
Develop and optimize PLC, SCADA, HMI and industrial control systems.
Deliver capital projects from concept through commissioning and handover.
Create testing, validation and commissioning plans for new/modified systems.
Oversee control system upgrades and fault diagnosis with proper interlocks.
Design and optimise industrial networks for data connectivity across plant ops.
Lead root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives.
