Job summary

James Hardie Industries in Australia seeks a PCI Electrical Engineer (Controls and Automation) to enhance safety, reliability, and performance of our Rosehill Manufacturing Plant through electrical, automation, PLC, SCADA and control system design and optimisation.

You will lead capital projects, develop test and commissioning plans, and collaborate with Production, Maintenance and Reliability teams to deliver continuous improvement with a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in electrical or related engineering field.
• 3+ years in electrical, automation, controls in manufacturing.
• Experience delivering automation and capital projects from concept to commissioning.
• Proven experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Studio 5000.
• SCADA systems experience; Plant SCADA preferred.
• Strong Excel, Project, and analytics skills.
• Strong WHS and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety-first culture and ensure compliance with WHS and James Hardie standards.
• Lead design, implementation, and improvement of electrical/automation systems.
• Develop and optimise PLC/SCADA/HMI and industrial control systems.
• Deliver capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop testing, validation, and commissioning plans.
• Support control system upgrades and troubleshooting.
• Design and optimise industrial networks for data flow.
• Monitor system performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead root-cause investigations and reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Reliability and Engineering teams.
