Job summary

TeamiCare Health Service is seeking a Mandarin-speaking Speech Pathologist to join our community-focused team in Melbourne. The role supports children, adults with disability and older adults in homes and community settings, with clinic and telehealth as appropriate.

You will assess, treat and educate across communication and swallowing, delivering therapy in English and Mandarin while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.
• Eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
• At least 1 year of clinical experience (NDIS/aged care preferred).
• Proficiency in Mandarin for assessments and therapy.
• Current Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, social communication, fluency, voice and swallowing as relevant to client needs.
• Develop and deliver individualised, evidence-informed therapy to support functional communication.
• Assess swallowing and mealtime needs and provide recommendations and meal plans.
• Assess and implement augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) supports.
• Educate families, carers and support workers to carry over therapy into daily routines.
• Collaborate with allied health professionals, coordinators, care managers and educators.
• Prepare timely clinical notes, assessment and progress reports linked to goals.
• Manage appointments and caseload with administrative support.
• Provide services in English and Mandarin.
