Job summary

Islamic College of Brisbane in Karawatha, QLD, seeks a full-time Mandarin (Chinese) Primary Teacher to commence Term 4, 2026. You will plan and deliver high-quality Mandarin lessons, foster an inclusive classroom, and support student wellbeing while working collaboratively with staff and families.

The role requires QCT registration or eligibility, and a commitment to the College’s Islamic ethos. This permanent position offers opportunities for professional development and involvement in College

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) or eligible for registration.
• Strong Mandarin language proficiency for primary teaching.
• Experience planning and delivering differentiated Mandarin lessons to primary students.
• Understanding of primary learning development and individual needs.
• Ability to create a positive, inclusive learning environment that engages students.
• Strong classroom management and positive relationships with students.
• Ability to monitor progress and use assessment data.
• Effective communication and collaboration with colleagues, students and families.
• Commitment to the values and ethos of the Islamic College of Brisbane.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Mandarin (Chinese) lessons aligned with curriculum.
• Create an inclusive, supportive learning environment to support achievement.
• Support student wellbeing and pastoral needs.
• Adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs and monitor progress.
